The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism organizes an Art Program in response to World Environment Day on June 5th.
(TN&MT) - On the morning of June 5th, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism organized an art program in response to World Environment Day on June 5th and the 2024 Action Month for the Environment with the theme: “Sea and Islands of the Homeland”.

In his opening speech at the Program, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong stated that Vietnam is a maritime nation with 28 coastal localities. Government Resolution No. 26 dated March 5, 2020, issued a comprehensive plan and a five-year plan to implement Central Committee Resolution No. 36 dated October 22, 2018, from the 12th Party Central Committee Conference on the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Vietnam’s Marine Economy until 2030, with a vision to 2045. This plan emphasizes critical tasks such as biodiversity protection, marine ecosystem restoration and regeneration, combating ocean plastic waste, and mitigating and adapting to climate change and sea level rise.
These foundations are essential for the successful implementation of the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Vietnam’s Marine Economy in the context of promoting the green economy, circular economy, and sustainable development.

Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized that in recent years, under the close direction of the Party, the State, and the Government, along with the timely guidance and coordination of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and various central and local ministries, departments, and agencies, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has been organizing and implementing many practical and effective activities to bring environmental protection laws into everyday life.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has integrated environmental protection regulations into the sector's strategies, programs, plans, projects, and proposals to concretize the objectives, tasks, and solutions for preventing and mitigating adverse environmental impacts in cultural, sports, and tourism activities. This effort aims to improve environmental quality at historical and cultural sites, scenic spots, tourist attractions, festivals, and sports training and competition centers across the country.

Additionally, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has organized training classes on environmental protection in various provinces and cities. These activities include exhibitions, poster design competitions, film production, television reports, art programs, events, and the publication of articles, research results, and successful environmental protection models. These are shared on newspapers, magazines, electronic newspapers, websites, and electronic information portals belonging to the Ministry to promote environmental protection practices in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism...
According to Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong, the songs, melodies, and performances by the artists of the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre in response to World Environment Day today will strongly convey the message of environmental protection to every organization and individual. This aims to foster a Green Planet – Earth for all humanity, regardless of skin color or ethnicity, to live together in peace and build a sustainable future for today's and future generations.

The "Sea and Islands of the Homeland" program featured the participation of many beloved artists and singers, including People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan, Quang Hung, Thu An, Thanh Thao, Trung Sy, Hue Thuong, Phuc Dai, the Phuong Nam Group, the Thoi Gian Group, the Hanoi Arts Club, the May Choir and Dance Troupe. They performed works conveying messages that called on people to connect more with nature and join hands in protecting natural resources and the environment.
This effort aims to leverage the strengths of cultural and artistic activities to fulfill the mission of spreading and deeply embedding the message of environmental protection within the community. By raising awareness, the program seeks to inspire practical and meaningful actions to protect the environment.
The performances call for World Environment Day
Along with the artistic performances, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism also organized activities such as displaying propaganda and artistic photographs about environmental protection, marine environments, and islands. These displays aimed to convey the message urging everyone to join in protecting the environment so that Vietnam can become a clean, safe, and friendly destination.
Additionally, documentary films about environmental protection, marine environments, and islands in the context of culture, sports, and tourism were screened. These films aimed to provide valuable experiences and enhance awareness about environmental protection among the participants.
