APPLICATION OF ACF-32 ENVIRONMENTAL MICROBIAL TREATMENT IN ORGANIC COMPOSTING

30/11/2017

Product information: ACF-32 contains 32 bacterial strains such as Bacillus spp, Rhodopseudomonas spp, Nitrobacter spp, Nitrosomonas spp, etc.

  • Enhances the decomposition of organic matter in substrates.
  • Stabilizes organic materials and shortens composting time.
  • Overcomes limitations of factors related to complex organic biochemical reactions.
  • Provides necessary micro and macro nutrients to support high-rate biological activities.

Organic composting process using microbial products:

Some notes on organic composting:

- Temperature: The maximum temperature to be maintained: 50-60°C. If the temperature is < 50°C: Pathogens are not completely eliminated. If the temperature is > 60°C: Inhibits microbial activity.

- MoistureA necessary factor in dissolving nutrients into the protoplasm of bacterial cells. Optimal moisture: 50-60%. If moisture < 30%: Limits microbial activity. If moisture > 65%: Decomposition slows down, turning anaerobic due to air blockage, causing foul odor, nutrient leakage, and spreading pathogens. If squeezing results in water leaking through fingers, the material is too wet; add dry leaves or straw to adjust moisture. If squeezing results in tightly sticking waste, moisture is adequate. If squeezing results in loose waste, more water needs to be added (just enough).

- Porosity: Affects the supply of oxygen necessary for microbial metabolism, respiration, and oxidation of organic molecules in the composting material. Common porosity: 32-60%; optimal: 32-36%. Too small porosity: Limits oxygen transfer, heat release, and temperature increase within the compost pile. Too large porosity: Low compost pile temperature, insufficient pathogen elimination.

- C/N ratio: The most important nutritional parameter.Optimal C/N ratio: 20-40. C/N < 20: Excess nitrogen generates odors like NH3.  C/N > 40: Limits microbial growth and poor heat generation.
